There are many denominations, many interpretations of the Word. There are many views on how to be saved; how to be spiritual, how to recover from sins, how to be blessed by God, and how to receive eternal life. Yet they all use the same book.

Why is this? Why are there so many interpretations?  This is why we have to go to His Spirit. It is His Sprit Who will illuminate and reveal to us the truth of His Word.

Many people think: "To understand how to come into a relationship with God, to know Him and be known of Him, to do what God wants me to do; Therefore, what I must do is to go to His Word, the Bible. If I will study and learn the Bible, then, I will come to an understanding of God."

That is not true! One of the great problems for many is what they think, that is the way, things are done. And this is not going to be done because it is impossible for man to understand the deep things of God. We must be empowered by the Holy Spirit because only God can cause us to see and understand the Scriptures.

It is not by just studying. But by the illumination and revelation of the Holy Sprit in opening up what is going on in the Scriptures. So, what must happen? God has to come down between the believer and the Bible. In actuality it looks something like this: Here I am, I desire to have a relationship with God. God the Holy Spirit is sent to us to cause us to understand the Bible. It is not through enhanced study of the Scriptures. It is by allowing the Holy Spirit to illuminate and reveal to us the truth that is given in His Word.

So what we need to do is spend time to test ourselves and see if, we are in the proper FAITH relationship with God the Holy Spirit. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 2, makes it very clear that our faith is directed towards God the Holy Spirit. It is God the Holy Spirit who will open up the Scriptures and cause us to correctly understand the Scriptures.

"For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words."  (1 Corinthians 2:10-13)
